Terms of use

The service.
Readshark is a reader for your own books and documents, free to use. It has a speed-reading mode, reads aloud, and keeps a library of short book summaries, all free in full. Readshark Plus, once it is on sale, is bought once and adds guides that bring several books together on one problem.
Your files.
You are responsible for having the right to read what you add. Your files stay on your device; we do not host, copy or share them.
The summaries.
Each summary is our own short account of a book's main ideas, written to help you choose what to read and remember what you read. A summary is not a substitute for the book, and the authors and publishers have not reviewed or endorsed it. The classics on the starter shelf come from Standard Ebooks, which releases them into the public domain.
Each guide is our own writing on one problem, drawing on the books it lists, and it links to each of them. Like a summary, it is not a substitute for those books, and their authors and publishers have not reviewed or endorsed it.
Readshark Plus.
Plus is bought once, on Stripe's payment page: one payment, no subscription, and the guides it opens stay yours. They open as soon as you pay, so once they have opened the purchase can't be cancelled for a refund, except where the law requires it. If a payment is refunded or charged back, Plus turns off. A change of price applies only to new purchases.
Plus is on in each browser where you turn it on. On another device, ask for a sign-in link with the email address you paid with.
No warranty.
Readshark is provided "as is". Summaries can contain mistakes, and the app may change, pause or stop. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from using it.
